ASTM A588GrA carbon steel is an American standard high weather-resistant bridge structural steel plate, and A588 Grade A steel is also a high-strength ordinary carbon low-alloy steel that is resistant to atmospheric corrosion in accordance with ASTMA 588/A588M-05. A588gra steel plate is widely used in construction, petroleum, aerospace, metallurgy, shipbuilding, fasteners and other industries, which can improve the service life and corrosion resistance of products, and better meet customer requirements.
The alloying elements in A588 Grade A carbon and low-alloy steel include Si, Mn, Cr, Ni, Cu, V, etc. The addition of V can play a role in grain refinement and precipitation strengthening, and other elements are solid solution strengthening. The addition of these elements, while improving the strength of the steel, also deteriorates the weldability of the steel. The steel is alloyed by adding Cu element to improve atmospheric corrosion resistance. The content of Cu is high, reaching 0.32%, and Cu element is an element that is easy to cause welding hot cracks.
