Q690C Steel Description

Q690C quenched and tempered high-strength steel belongs to the structural steel category. Q is the yield strength, 690 is its minimum yield value, and C is its grade. This grade also has higher yield strength and tensile strength. The corresponding grades are Q690C, Q690D, Q690E, Q690F, etc., all of which are the same grade but of different grades.

The carbon content (melting analysis) of Q690C high-strength steel plate is generally not more than 0.20%, the total content of alloy elements is generally not more than 2.5%, and the yield strength is not less than 295MPa. It is a low-alloy steel with good impact toughness and weldability. It is widely used in the manufacture of some parts of buildings, bridges, ships, vehicles, pressure vessels, coal mining machinery, construction machinery, such as hydraulic supports, port cranes, and flatbed trucks.
