S460N Carbon and Low-alloy Steel Description

S460N carbon low-alloy steel plate belongs to the European standard high-strength steel plate, S460N Steel especially in the normalized or normalized and tempered state with high comprehensive mechanical properties. The grade of S460N steel plate indicates: "S": indicates the European standard steel plate; "460": indicates that the yield strength of the steel plate is not less than 460MPa; "N": indicates the delivery status of the steel plate. The S460N steel plate implements the EN10025-3 standard, and has high comprehensive mechanical properties in the normalized or normalized plus tempered state. Mainly used in large ships, bridges, power station equipment, medium and high pressure boilers, high pressure vessels, rolling stock, hoisting machinery, mining machinery and other large welded structural parts.

S460N carbon structural steel is a low-alloy material, corresponding to the China standard Q460D, with an impact temperature of -20°C, generally normalized or normalized rolling process. S460N steel plate is easy to cut and weld, has high yield strength, toughness and fatigue resistance, and its performance is more stable after heat treatment. It is often used in mining machinery manufacturing, construction machinery equipment manufacturing or cutting large equipment accessories.
