SM520B Steel Description

SM520B low alloy high strength structural steel plate implements the Japanese standard JIS G3106. SM520 steel plate is equivalent to national standard Q355 series steel plate. In the SM520B steel plate grade, "SM" means the Japanese standard, and "520" means the tensile strength of the steel plate; "B": quality grade of steel plate. The SM520B low alloy steel plate has good comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature properties, good plasticity and weldability. It is used as a structure, mechanical part, building structure, and general metal structure that bears dynamic load, such as oil storage tanks, vehicles, medium and low pressure vessels, cranes, mining machinery, power plants, bridges, etc. The SM520B steel plate is used in hot rolling or normalizing state, and can be used for various structures in cold regions above - 40.

JIS SM520B low-alloy carbon steel has high strength, high toughness, impact resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, welding and easy processing and other high-quality properties. The conventional dimensions of SM520B steel plate are 8-150mm thick, 2000-2500mm wide and 10000-12000mm long. The yield value of SM520B steel plate will decrease with the increase of material thickness. The thickness direction performance requirements of SM520B steel plate are Z15, Z25 and Z35.
