SM400A steel Description

SM400A carbon structural steel, also named as SM400A engineering and structural steel, SM400A welded structural steel. Grade SM400A steel under Japanese standard JIS G3106, SM400 series has three quality grades (A, B, C), namely SM400A, SM400B, SM400C. The heat treatment process of SM400A material is hot rolling and normalizing. The tensile strength of SM400A hot rolled steel for welded structures is not as reliable as that of SM490 structural steel.

SM400A carbon weld structural steel is a hot rolled steel for welded structures in the form of sheets, plates and strips for construction and engineering structures. SM400A hot-rolled steel plate has good welding performance and is used for structural parts such as bridges, ships, vehicles, oil storage tanks, and ships.
