A242 Type 1 weathering steel is often used in housing structures, construction industry and freight cars.

A242 steel is called weathering steel. Its atmospheric corrosion resistance is at least 4 times that of ordinary carbon structural steel A36. It can be directly used in ordinary atmospheric environments without painting, reducing the maintenance costs of steel structures.
