EN S275JR Steel Description

S275JR Steel is an excellent carbon structure and low-alloy structural steel for engineering and structural steel, which is easy to process and has excellent impact resistance. The possibilities of this S275JR steel material is similar to mild steel. Usually delivered without heat treatment. Commonly used thickness is 8mm-150mm. S275JR belong EN S275 steel series, and S275 include S275JR, S275J0 and S275J2 Steel grades.

S275JR carbon steel is a alloy steel plate under European standard(EN10025) , which is generally used in construction and various types of mountains and various engineering construction drilling rigs, electric shovels, electric wheel buckets, mining vehicles, excavators, bulldozers, tillers, various engineering crystals , coal mine hydraulic support and other mechanical equipment and other structural parts.

Where is different between S275JR and Q235B steel?
Different experimental techniques
S275JR carbon and low-alloy steel is usually not subjected to heat treatment. If required, impact energy tests at room temperature of 20°C, 0°C, and -20°C can also be performed.
Q235B is for impact test at room temperature, V-notch, design pressure P≤1.6MPa, operating temperature is 0～350℃.

Different performance
S275JR is generally steel rods, steel plates, steel strips, wires, and forgings with excellent strength.
Q235B has certain elongation, strength, good toughness and castability, and is easy to punch and weld.
