A517Gr.A steel under ASTM A517/A517M standard, A517 Grade A steel has high strength, high toughness, fatigue resistance, impact resistance, low temperature resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. A517 Grade A pressure vessel steel plates are widely used in large-scale boilers, petroleum refining, coal chemical industry, energy and electric power and other industries. Under this specification, the plate thickness determines the grade selection and mechanical properties. The minimum yield strength of A517 Grade A steel plates with a thickness of 2.5" and below 100 ksi. Minimum yield strength for plate over 2.5" thick is 90 ksi.
