ASTM A517GrB high-strength pressure vessel steel was observed and analyzed by optical microscope, transmission electron microscope and other experimental methods. With the increase of tempering temperature, phase transformation, recovery, recrystallization, carbide precipitation and other processes occurred in the structure, the strength of the steel plate decreased and the toughness increased. The best tempering temperature is 670°C. The delivery state of A517GrB pressure vessel steel: it is delivered in the state of heat treatment (normalizing, annealing or high temperature tempering) or without heat treatment, and the delivery state should be indicated in the warranty certificate.
