20Cr Alloy Steel Description

GB/T 20Cr alloy steel is a commonly used medium carbon quenched and tempered structural steel, which is a carburized steel with low hardenability. 20Cr alloy steel is mostly used in the manufacture of carburized parts (oil quenching) with high core strength requirements, surface wear, cross-section below 30mm, or complex shapes and low loads (oil quenching), such as: machine tool gearbox gears, gear shafts, cams , worm, piston pin, claw clutch, etc.; for parts with small heat treatment deformation and high wear resistance, high-frequency surface quenching should be carried out after carburizing, such as gears, shafts, and spline shafts with a modulus less than 3. 20Cr alloy steel can also be used in quenched and tempered state to manufacture parts with high working speed and medium impact load. This steel can also be used as low carbon martensitic quenching steel to further increase the yield strength of steel And tensile strength (about 1.5 to 1.7 times more).

20Cr alloy structural steel is a Chinese standard, and the implemented standard is GB/T3077-2015. The 20Cr steel plate has good corrosion resistance and machinability. Steel is smelted in electric furnaces and undergoes a redox process to remove impurities. Then, the molten steel is put into a ladle for secondary refining and inoculation treatment to improve the structure of the molten steel. Afterwards, the steel is cast into ingot molds and heated to 1150-1200°C for forging or rolling. Finally, the steel is cut and inspected, and then sent to the heat treatment workshop for heat treatment.
