P355NL2 Boiler and Pressure Vessel steel Description

P355NL2 steel plate is a European standard cryogenic vessel steel plate. P355NL2 implements the EN10028-3 standard. The "L2" in the P355NL2 steel plate grade indicates that the steel is a special low-temperature quality grade steel. Its low alloy composition gives it high strength and good toughness, allowing it to withstand stress in low temperature and high pressure environments. P355NL2 pressure vessel steel is used in chemical industry, power stations, boilers and other industries to make reactors, separators, spherical tanks, oil and gas tanks, liquefied gas tanks, and nuclear reactor pressure shells.

The main chemical components of P355NL2 boiler and pressure vessel steel include carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S) and chromium (Cr). Among them, the carbon content is controlled below 0.18%, and the silicon and manganese content are also relatively low. The phosphorus and sulfur content are controlled at very low levels to improve the toughness of the steel. The addition of chromium can enhance the corrosion resistance of steel. P355NL2 can be used to manufacture structural materials such as offshore platforms, oil drilling equipment and ship structures that need to withstand high pressure and harsh environments.

EN10028-3 P355NL2 pressure vessel steel has good mechanical properties. The minimum yield strength of P355NL2 container steel is above 355MPa, and the tensile strength is between 490-630MPa. This high strength allows P355NL2 steel to maintain stable and reliable performance in environments withstanding high pressures and loads. P355NL2 steel can still maintain good ductility and impact resistance at low temperatures. P355NL2 is widely used in the manufacture of cryogenic pressure vessels and boilers, such as liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage tanks, natural gas storage tanks and chemical reactors.
