S355J2G3 non-alloy structural steel conforming to EN10025-2:2004 standard. S355J2G3 steel is now called S355J2. S355J2G3 material is equivalent to Q355D in GB standard. J2G3 means that the delivery state is normalized, the impact energy at - 20 ℃ is 27J, and G3 and G4 mean that the deoxidation mode is characterized. S355J2G3 represents semi killed steel. According to the chemical composition of S355J2G3, it is difficult to classify it as alloy steel. According to the division of European standards EN10025 and EN10250, S355J2G3 is defined as non alloy structural steel.
S355J2G3 carbon structural steel is also equivalent to A572 Grade50. A572GR50 steel is defined as high-strength low alloy niobium vanadium structural steel, which belongs to ASTM A572 standard. According to this standard, structural steel is divided into five grades, namely Grade 42, Grade 50, Grade 55, Grade 60 and Grade 65.
S355J2G3 low alloy high strength structural steel is made by adding a small amount of alloy elements on the basis of carbon structural steel (Wc=0.16%~0.2%). S355J2G3 carbon steel has good welding performance, plasticity, toughness and processing technology, good corrosion resistance, high strength and low cold brittle critical transition temperature. S355J2G3 steel is widely used in welding structures bearing dynamic loads, such as bridges, vehicles, ships, pipelines, boilers, large ships, oil tanks, heavy machinery, mining machinery and low-temperature pressure vessels.
