Welcome to BBN Steel Materials Factory
JIS G3101 SS400 carbon steel is a type of steel commonly used for general structural purposes. SS400 steel chemical composition and mechanical properties make it suitable for applications such as bridges, ships, buildings, and other structures. SS400 steel can be substituted for equivalent materials based on various international standards, including ASTM A36, DIN ST37-2, GB Q235A, ISO E235B, and EN S235JR.These materials have similar chemical compositions and mechanical properties, making them suitable for various applications in the construction industry.
The standard chemical composition of JIS G3101 SS400 carbon and low-alloy steel includes carbon (C), silicon (Si), manganese (Mn), phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), and other trace elements. The maximum percentage of carbon is 0.22%, while the maximum percentage of silicon and manganese is 0.50%. Phosphorus and sulfur are limited to a maximum of 0.04% and 0.05%, respectively.
JIS G3101 SS400 steel has a yield strength of 245 MPa and a tensile strength of 400 – 510 MPa, with elongation of 21% in 50mm and 23% in 50mm under the control of thickness and reasonable welding performance.
JIS SS400 Carbon Steel Equivalent Material
There are several equivalent materials with different international standards that can be used as a substitute for JIS G3101 SS400. These include:
1. ASTM A36 is an American standard carbon steel that is commonly used in the construction industry. It has a yield strength of 250 MPa and a tensile strength of 400 – 550 MPa. It is often used to manufacture structural buildings, bridges, and other components.
2. DIN ST37-2 is a German standard carbon steel that is also commonly used in the construction industry. Its chemical composition and mechanical properties are almost identical to those of JIS G3101 SS400. It has a yield strength of 235 MPa and a tensile strength of 360 – 510 MPa, making it suitable for various applications.
3. GB Q235A steel is a Chinese standard carbon steel that is also equivalent to JIS G3101 SS400 steel. It has a yield strength of 235 MPa and a tensile strength of 370 – 500 MPa. It is often used in the construction industry for structural steel components.
4. ISO E235B is a European standard carbon steel that is equivalent to SS400 steel. It has a yield strength of 215 MPa and a tensile strength of 340 – 470 MPa. It is commonly used in the construction industry for structural steel components.
5. EN S235JR is a European standard carbon steel that is also equivalent to JIS SS400 steel grade. It has a yield strength of 235 MPa and a tensile strength of 360 – 510 MPa, making it suitable for a variety of applications.
