What is ASTM A573 Grade 65?

A573 Grade 65 carbon structural steel is a carbon-manganese-silicon steel plate with improved notch toughness according to the American standard, implementing the American Society for Testing and Materials standard ASTM A573/573M-05, with a maximum thickness limit of 40mm; A573 is divided into three levels: A573 Gr70, A573 Gr65, and A573 Gr58. A573Gr65 steel plate is widely used in petroleum, chemical, power station, boiler and other industries, for the production of reactors, heat exchangers, separators, spherical tanks, nuclear reactor pressure shells, turbine volutes and other equipment and components. A573Gr.65 pressure vessel plates are also widely used in petrochemical equipment, such as deethanizer, CO2 absorption tower, medium pressure flash tower, cooler, etc.
