Corten B Steel Description

Corten-B steel is a hot-rolled low-alloy structural steel plate, and it aslo name Corten-B high-strength steel, Corten-B high weather-resistant and corrosion-resistant sheet. which has good comprehensive mechanical properties and large cavitation resistance, and Corten-B steel is mainly used for manufacturing boiler components. This technical condition is equivalent to ASTM / a588m-87gra standard, which is applicable to the extra thick steel plate not more than 200mm for manufacturing boiler components.

Corten-B weather-resistant steel is mainly used for: economizer gas, air preheater, heat exchanger and evaporator in high sulfur flue gas to resist dew corrosion of sulfur flue gas. It has the best resistance to sulfur ions, hydrochloric acid and other acid corrosion. Spiral groove tube is the main, economical and mature heat transfer element, which has been widely used in various boiler air preheater products.

Corten Steel can be divided into four types: Corten a, Corten B, Corten C and Corten b-qt. The weather resistance and corrosion resistance of Corten A is five to eight times higher than that of ordinary steel, while that of Corten B is four times higher.

Corten B Weathering steel is made of ordinary carbon steel with a small amount of corrosion-resistant elements such as copper and nickel. It has the characteristics of high-quality steel such as strength and toughness, plastic extension, forming, welding and cutting, abrasion, high temperature and fatigue resistance;
