S550MC automotive steel is a high yield structural steel grade produced in compliance with EN 10149-2, which is widely used in a variety of structural and engineering applications. S550MC steel has a high tensile strength of up to 550 MPa, making it one of the strongest commercially available grades of steel. Its excellent formability makes it suitable for a variety of applications in areas such as automotive, construction, off-shore oil rigs, pressure vessels, and others.
S550MC high yield structural steel is equivalent to SEW 092 QStE550TM, NFA E560D, ASTM A514, BS 1449 HR50F45, and UNE AE550E-K. Depending on its intended application, the equivalent grade may vary slightly or significantly.

SEW 092 QStE550TM steel is a hot-rolled and high yield strength steel, QStE550TM steel are used in applications such as automotive frames, agricultural equipment, and pressure vessels. It is also known for its excellent formability and weldability. It has a tensile strength of up to 550 MPa and a yield strength of up to 500 MPa. NFA E560D is used in applications such as bridge and construction work. It has a higher tensile strength of up to 620 MPa. ASTM A514 is the American standard grade for high yield strength steel. It has a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa and a tensile strength of 690 MPa.
BS 1449 HR50F45 is a British standard grade used in the automotive and construction industry. It has a minimum tensile strength of up to 550 MPa. UNE AE550E-K is the Spanish steel grade for high yield strength steel manufactured according to the UNE European standard. It is optimised for achieving very good cold-forming properties and high surface quality. It has a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa and a tensile strength of up to 700 MPa.
