Welcome to BBN Steel Materials Factory
S550MC automobile steel is a hot-rolled structural flat steel product available in several grades. S550MC steel is suitable for applications requiring a minimum yield strength of 550 MPa and up to a minimum ultimate tensile strength of 700 to 800 MPa depending on the grade. S550MC structural steel has a good combination of strength and formability compared to other high yield steels with similar strength and ductility and is therefore very popular in the automotive and construction industries.

S550MC hot-rolled structural steel is primarily used for the manufacture of components for the automotive and construction industries. Components produced from S550MC steel are generally heavier and thicker sections than components produced from other materials, because of the increased strength of the material in comparison with mild steel, for example. For example, it is often used to produce chassis sections and other structural components, such as crane booms and conveyor frames, due to its superior strength-to-weight ratio (lower weight component with comparable load-bearing capacity).

S550MC automobile structural steel is a cost-effective way to meet the tight tolerances required for precision components, as its strength can be finely tuned by adjusting its grade. As a general rule of thumb, the higher the yield strength of S550MC steel, the thicker the component can be. This makes it ideal choice for applications requiring a high strength-to-weight ratio - such as the frames of cranes and other lifting equipment; frames of heavy-duty trucks and other transportation equipment, armoured vehicles and parts of machines and construction equipment. S550MC steel is highly versatile, making it one of the most commonly used steels in many industries. Its high strength, combined with its good formability and outstanding resistance to corrosion makes it particularly appreciated in a variety of end-use applications. This includes automotive components, construction and agricultural machinery, cranes and heavy-duty equipment, as well as other applications that require high strength.
