EN 10149-2 s700mc steel mechanical properties

S700MC automobile steel is a high yield structural steel grade produced in compliance with EN 10149-2. It is supplied under the EN 10149-2 standard which is used for hot rolled flat products in the construction of bridges, lorry frames, and cold rolled sections. The material is used in a variety of applications including structural components, chassis parts, and cold rolled sections.

The mechanical properties of S700MC steel make it well suited for a variety of applications. The material has a high yield strength of 700 MPa, a tensile strength of 750-950 MPa, and an elongation of 15%. It also has a good impact energy of 27 Joules at -20 degrees Celsius. In addition, S700MC steel offers good weldability and formability.

Tensile yield strength of S700MC steel plate:
S700MC tensile strength (σb/MPa): 750-950
S700MC yield point (σs/MPa): ≧700
S700MC elongation after breaking (δ5/%): ≧10
S700MC impact energy Akv -20°C(J): ≥27

Chemical Composition EN 10149-2 S700MC automotive steel contains Chemical Elements as follows based on very low carbon equivalent for strength:
C % (max): 0.12
Mn % (max): 1.60
Si % (max): 0.50
P % (max): 0.025
S % (max): 0.015

EN 10149-2 S700MC automotive structural steel Applications
Due to the characteristics of the high tensile and yield strength, S700MC is ideal for automotive chassis and wheel suspension components, safety reinforcements and cranes or mining equipment. It can also be used where other structural parts require higher strength but still need to remaining lightweight and flexible.
