SA387Gr11CL2 pressure vessel steel plate is a high-performance chromium-molybdenum alloy steel plate, mainly used for manufacturing equipment that works in high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive environments The SA387Gr11CL2 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel plate has the performance of preventing hydrogen embrittlement, hydrogen corrosion, hydrogen stripping, and sulfide corrosion in a medium temperature (350-480°C) hydrogen-exposed environment, while also having good low-temperature temper brittleness. The SA387 steel plate has high resistance to brittleness and also has good impact toughness in low temperature environments.
The SA387Gr11CL2 vessel plate adheres to the ASME standard, and the corresponding national standard material is 14Cr1MoR.Chemical Composition
The chemical composition of SA387Gr11CL2 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel plate is precisely controlled to meet specific engineering requirements. The key chemical components and their respective content ranges are as follows:
Carbon (C): 0.05% to 0.17% (also stated as ≤0.15%)
Silicon (Si): 0.50% to 0.80% (also stated as ≤0.50%)
Manganese (Mn): 0.40% to 0.65%
Phosphorus (P): ≤0.035%
Sulfur (S): ≤0.035%
Chromium (Cr): 1.00%1.50% (also said to be 1.20%1.50%)
Molybdenum (Mo): 0.45% to 0.65%
In addition, the steel plate may also contain a small amount of nickel (Ni), copper (Cu), vanadium (V), titanium (Ti), aluminum (Al), niobium (Nb), boron (B), tungsten (W) and cobalt (Co) and other elements, the presence of these elements further improve the comprehensive performance of the steel plate.
Delivery Status and Heat Treatment
The delivery state of SA387Gr11CL2 steel plate is usually normalizing plus tempering treatment, or normalizing plus rapid cooling plus tempering treatment. The specific delivery status should be specified in the contract. The temperature parameters for heat treatment are as follows:
Normalizing temperature: usually not exceeding 968℃
Tempering temperature: It should not be lower than 705℃ (some data also indicate that the minimum tempering temperature is 720℃ or 620℃). The specific temperature is determined by the material supplier based on the actual chemical composition and cross-sectional size.
Processing and Cutting
SA387Gr11CL2 steel plate has good welding and processing performance. Common cutting methods include mechanical cutting, flame cutting, and plasma cutting. Before cutting, it is necessary to ensure that the surface of the steel plate is clean and free of impurities. During the cutting process, it is necessary to strictly control the cutting parameters to ensure the quality of the cut.
